Passerina wine represents the rediscovery of an autochthonous grape whose production area is included in a well-defined area in the south of the Marche region. Characterised by distinct fruity aromas and great softness on the palate, it has hints of aromatic herbs and mineral notes. It has a good acidic tone and a long, elegant finish. Excellent as an aperitif and paired with light appetizers.
This ancient grape variety with a bizarre name is grown in hilly areas in the south of the Marche region. Characterised by a rapid accumulation of sugars and early ripening, its wines, generally high in alcohol, express freshness, tasty acidity, and intriguing and unusual aromas. The nose is rich in fruity sensations with notes of pear, peach and citrus fruits anticipating hints of wild fennel and sage. Substantial and balanced, it has an excellent persistence with a fine mineral finish. It goes well with fish-based first courses.
The dense red colour recalls ripe fruit and scents of Mediterranean herbs and flowers. With a good structure, it has deep flavours even when young, becoming softer with age. Excellent with grilled meats
